{"id":102,"date":"2002-10-12T22:14:44","date_gmt":"2002-10-13T06:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/archives\/2002\/10\/12\/cougar-trumps-cardinal\/"},"modified":"2002-10-12T22:14:44","modified_gmt":"2002-10-13T06:14:44","slug":"cougar-trumps-cardinal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2002\/10\/12\/cougar-trumps-cardinal","title":{"rendered":"Cougar Trumps Cardinal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow\u2013the Car\u00addi\u00adnal was just trounced by the ignobly-named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsu.edu\/\">Waz\u00adzu<\/a>, with a final score of <a href=\"http:\/\/gostanford.ocsn.com\/sports\/m-footbl\/recaps\/101202aaa.html\">36\u201311<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Paula and I were able to attend because I did the morn\u00ading devo\u00adtion\u00adal for the Waz\u00adzu team (the team chap\u00adlain is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chialpha.com\/directory.html?staff=66\">Steve Barke<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chialpha.com\/\">Chi Alpha<\/a> direc\u00adtor up in Pull\u00adman, and he asked me to fill in for him while his team was on the road).<\/p>\n<p>In any event, they gave me a pair of comp tick\u00adets right in the mid\u00addle of the fan Cougar sec\u00adtion. Not only did we see Stan\u00adford get spanked up and down the field, but we did it while sit\u00adting in front of a for\u00admer cheer\u00adleader and her slight\u00adly ine\u00adbri\u00adat\u00aded com\u00adpan\u00adions who let the whole world know what they thought of Stan\u00adford\u2019s lack of prowess.<\/p>\n<p>It was a sad, sad day for Car\u00addi\u00adnal fans, but the <a href=\"http:\/\/wsucougars.ocsn.com\/\">Cougar fans<\/a> must be ecsta\u00adt\u00adic.<\/p>\n<p>On the up side, the oppos\u00ading coach had a nice com\u00adment to make after the game: <i> I feel like this Stan\u00adford team is about ready to explode and do real\u00adly well on offense, so I think our defense did a nice job of keep\u00ading them at bay. It won\u2019t be too long before Stan\u00adford gets their offense going. I think their penal\u00adties were a result of a lot of frus\u00adtra\u00adtion on their part.
