I\u2019m encour\u00adaged that a fol\u00adlow\u00ader of Jesus was at the fore\u00adfront of the ear\u00adly envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal move\u00adment. It is easy to grow dis\u00adap\u00adpoint\u00aded in Chris\u00adtian\u00adi\u00adty if you focus on the inac\u00adtiv\u00adi\u00adty of the insti\u00adtu\u00adtion\u00adal church and for\u00adget that the faith, ulti\u00admate\u00adly, is expressed in indi\u00advid\u00adual lives. But when you remem\u00adber that the church\u2019s busi\u00adness is to not to engage in activism itself but rather to release Chris\u00adtians to serve God\u2019s pur\u00adpos\u00ades in the world, you can actu\u00adal\u00adly become quite gid\u00addy. We still have a long way to go, but we\u2019re doing far bet\u00adter than the world or the church seems to think. When I peek deep into a pos\u00adi\u00adtive sit\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion I often dis\u00adcov\u00ader a Jesus-fol\u00adlow\u00ader (or even a few) at the heart of it. <\/p>\n
