I waxed nostaligic last week, and so I visited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.new-lifechurch.org\/\">my old church\u2019s website<\/a> to see how things were going. While there I happened to glance at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.new-lifechurch.org\/beliefs.htm\">their \u2018What We Believe\u2019 page<\/a>, and I noticed that it looked very familiar.<\/p>\n<p>You see, when I began talking to Stanford students about Chi Alpha many were curious about our beliefs. I quickly realized that I needed a more student-friendly way of explaining our beliefs than the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ag.org\/top\/beliefs\/truths.cfm\">formal Assemblies of God statement of faith<\/a>. So I thought about it and decided to revise and expand the one that we used to use back at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smsu-xa.org\/\">SMS Chi Alpha<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, I wound up writing a concise <a href=\"http:\/\/xastanford.org\/archives\/000003.html\">statement of faith<\/a> for Chi Alpha @ Stanford. Lo and behold, it\u2019s identical to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.new-lifechurch.org\/beliefs.htm\">the one on my old church\u2019s website<\/a>! I emailed Cal (my old pastor), and he said that he saw it and liked it so much that he decided to adopt it. Furthermore, he\u2019s shared it with two other churches (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.timbercreek.org\">Timbercreek<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timberlinechurch.org\/\">Timberline<\/a>) that are considering adopting (or adapting it).<\/p>\n<p>Since one of the things I get most excited about is sharing resources that help other people be more effective, I\u2019m pretty happy about it!
