Not only did Glen\u2019s broth\u00ader and Paula\u2019s col\u00adlege room\u00admate trav\u00adel down from Wash\u00ading\u00adton state, but we were able to host over 20 Stan\u00adford stu\u00addents in our home for lunch on turkey day (near\u00adly 30 total peo\u00adple)!<\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you\u2013that\u2019s an awful lot of peo\u00adple to cram into one apart\u00adment!<\/p>\n<p>In case you\u2019re won\u00adder\u00ading why they did\u00adn\u2019t head home to vis\u00adit their fam\u00adi\u00adlies, all the stu\u00addents were inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal stu\u00addents (most\u00adly from Sin\u00adga\u00adpore). Trav\u00adel\u00ading inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adly and get\u00adting jet lagged is a big has\u00adsle (and pret\u00adty expen\u00adsive) for such a short break from school.<\/p>\n<p>For many of them, this was their first real cel\u00ade\u00adbra\u00adtion of Thanks\u00adgiv\u00ading. Think about it\u2013how many oth\u00ader coun\u00adtries cel\u00ade\u00adbrate the pil\u00adgrims\u2019 sur\u00advival? To my knowl\u00adedge, only Cana\u00adda\u2026<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Students eating Thanksgiving meal\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.glenandpaula.com\/archives\/thanksgiving_table.jpg?resize=200%2C150\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" align=\"right\"><\/p>\n<p>Sev\u00ader\u00adal of our guests were already fol\u00adlow\u00ading Christ, but many have yet to expe\u00adri\u00adence God\u2019s trans\u00adform\u00ading love. The King\u00addom of God flows through rela\u00adtion\u00adships, and so please pray that God would use our hos\u00adpi\u00adtal\u00adi\u00adty as a cat\u00ada\u00adlyst for spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal growth in these stu\u00addents\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n<p>Cook\u00ading for so many peo\u00adple was a huge task, as was seat\u00ading them. Thanks to Greg, Rachel, and Ailin for help\u00ading to pre\u00adpare the food, and many thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southbay.org\/\">South\u00adbay Chris\u00adt\u00adian Cen\u00adter<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3ca.org\/\">Three Cities Assem\u00adbly<\/a> for loan\u00ading us chairs and tables, and a heap of thanks to Pas\u00adtor Mike Brown of Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Assem\u00adbly of God (as well as his wor\u00adship leader Paul) and Josh Wong and Ming Fai Wong for help\u00ading to cart the chairs and tables to our place.
