\"nevada.jpg\"This Wednes\u00adday Paula and I drove up to Sparks, NV to preach at Cross\u00adwinds Assem\u00adbly of God<\/a>, which was a great expe\u00adri\u00adence.<\/p>\n

First, Sparks is adja\u00adcent to Reno\u2013and that is an incred\u00adi\u00adbly beau\u00adti\u00adful area, sport\u00ading snow-capped moun\u00adtains in vir\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly every direc\u00adtion.<\/p>\n

Sec\u00adond, the church itself was very cool\u2013the peo\u00adple were friend\u00adly, the wor\u00adship was great, and I got to use one of those cool lit\u00adtle pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal wire\u00adless mikes that fits like a head\u00adset (the kind Brit\u00adney and those boy bands use). I love gad\u00adgets, and that was just plain neat.<\/p>\n

Third, Paula and I were able to meet with five oth\u00ader pas\u00adtors for face-to-face pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtions of our min\u00adistry on Wednes\u00adday and Thurs\u00adday: Rod\u00adney Waters (Light\u00adhouse of Natomas<\/a>), David Hoskins (Val\u00adley View Chris\u00adt\u00adian Fel\u00adlow\u00adship), Brent John\u00adson (Reno Assem\u00adbly of God), Ter\u00adry and Rita Fred (Sier\u00adra Church), Stan Friend (Cap\u00adi\u00adtal Chris\u00adt\u00adian Cen\u00adter in Car\u00adson City), and John Peter\u00adson (South Shore Chris\u00adt\u00adian Assem\u00adbly).<\/p>\n

Fourth, Den\u00adnis Gay\u00adlor<\/a> (the nation\u00adal Chi Alpha direc\u00adtor) hap\u00adpened to be in Reno and we got to meet him for lunch along with Ter\u00adry and Rita Fred.<\/p>\n

Fifth, the last pas\u00adtor we met with (John Peter\u00adson) used to pas\u00adtor here in Palo Alto. He and his wife pio\u00adneered a church here around 1989 and over a decade grew it to around 350 peo\u00adple, includ\u00ading sev\u00ader\u00adal Stan\u00adford stu\u00addents. He got involved with min\u00adistry on cam\u00adpus and things were going well, and then he went to join the dis\u00adtrict denom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal lead\u00ader\u00adship team. The church dwin\u00addled and does\u00adn\u2019t exist any\u00admore. Still, it was great talk\u00ading to him! <\/p>\n

Sixth, we drove back through Lake Tahoe\u2013simply stun\u00adning!<\/p>\n

In oth\u00ader words, this trip was fab\u00adu\u00adlous any way you count it. Sor\u00adry if you\u2019ve sent me an email I haven\u2019t respond\u00aded to yet, we just put over 600 miles on our car in two days and haven\u2019t been near a com\u00adput\u00ader for that whole time. I\u2019ll begin pro\u00adcess\u00ading the back\u00adlog today and get it cleared out by tomor\u00adrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
