He had some\u00adthing to tell me about preschool:<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cMatthew hit me today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So I said, \u201cReal\u00adly? And then what hap\u00adpened?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI hit him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rea\u00adson\u00adable enough for a three-year old. And around this time the teacher is prob\u00ada\u00adbly about to get involved, and I\u2019m pret\u00adty curi\u00adous about what she did. \u201cWhat hap\u00adpened after that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cHe hit me again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Uh-oh. This might not be a very good sto\u00adry. \u201cAnd then what hap\u00adpened?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He got a big grin on his face. \u201cI tum\u00adbled him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I start\u00aded to grin back. It was part\u00adly a response to his grin, part\u00adly amuse\u00adment at his inven\u00adtive use of the word \u201ctum\u00adble\u201d, and part\u00adly pride in my war\u00adrior son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see. And then what hap\u00adpened?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNoth\u00ading.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I burst into laugh\u00adter.
