I got one of those forwards from a friend (Brandt Noel) this morning. He never forwards me stuff, so I decided to take a look at it. I liked it!<\/p>\n

In abridged version, here\u2019s a Louisiana primer:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. There are 5,000 types of snakes, and 4,998 live in Louisiana. <\/li>\n
  2. Squirrels will eat anything. And folks in Louisiana will eat squirrel. <\/li>\n
  3. If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it bites. <\/li>\n
  4. It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy. <\/li>\n
  5. \u201cFixinto\u201d is one word. <\/li>\n
  6. There ain\u2019t no such thing as \u201clunch.\u201d There\u2019s \u201cdinner\u201d and then
    \nthere\u2019s \u201csupper.\u201d!\n<\/li>\n
  7. Sweet tea is appropriate for all meals, and you start drinking it when you\u2019re two. <\/li>\n
  8. \u201cJeet?\u201d is actually a phrase meaning \u201cDid you eat?\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    And you know you\u2019re from LA (Louisiana, that is) if:<\/p>\n

    1. You measure distance in minutes. <\/li>\n
    2. You use \u201cfix\u201d as a verb. Example: I am fixing to go to the store. <\/li>\n
    3. You \u201caxe\u201d people questions. Example: I got somethin\u2019 to axe you \u2019bout.<\/li>\n
    4. You only own four spices: salt, Tony\u2019s, Tabasco and ketchup. <\/li>\n
    5. The local papers cover national and international news on one page
      \nand six pages for local gossip and sports. <\/li>\n
    6. You think that the first day deer season is a national holiday. <\/li>\n
    7. You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit \u201ca little warm.\u201d <\/li>\n
    8. You know all four seasons: almost summer, summer, still summer,
      \nand Christmas. <\/li>\n
    9. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good gumbo weather. <\/li>\n
    10. A carbonated soft drink isn\u2019t a soda, cola, or pop\u2026it\u2019s a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: \u201cWhat kinna coke you want?\u201d<\/li>\n
    11. Fried Catfish is the other white meat. <\/li>\n
