He nev\u00ader for\u00adwards me stuff, so I decid\u00aded to take a look at it. I liked it!<\/p>\n<p>In abridged ver\u00adsion, here\u2019s a Louisiana primer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>There are 5,000 types of snakes, and 4,998 live in Louisiana. <\/li>\n<li>Squir\u00adrels will eat any\u00adthing. And folks in Louisiana will eat squir\u00adrel. <\/li>\n<li>If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it bites. <\/li>\n<li>It is not a shop\u00adping cart, it is a bug\u00adgy. <\/li>\n<li>\u201cFix\u00adin\u00adto\u201d is one word. <\/li>\n<li>There ain\u2019t no such thing as \u201clunch.\u201d There\u2019s \u201cdin\u00adner\u201d and then<br>\nthere\u2019s \u201csup\u00adper.\u201d!\n<\/li>\n<li>Sweet tea is appro\u00adpri\u00adate for all meals, and you start drink\u00ading it when you\u2019re two.\n<\/li>\n<li>\u201cJeet?\u201d is actu\u00adal\u00adly a phrase mean\u00ading \u201cDid you eat?\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And you know you\u2019re from LA (Louisiana, that is) if:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You mea\u00adsure dis\u00adtance in min\u00adutes. <\/li>\n<li>You use \u201cfix\u201d as a verb. Exam\u00adple: I am fix\u00ading to go to the store. <\/li>\n<li>You \u201caxe\u201d peo\u00adple ques\u00adtions. Exam\u00adple: I got some\u00adthin\u2019 to axe you \u2019bout.<\/li>\n<li>You only own four spices: salt, Tony\u2019s, Tabas\u00adco and ketchup. <\/li>\n<li>The local papers cov\u00ader nation\u00adal and inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal news on one page<br>\nand six pages for local gos\u00adsip and sports. <\/li>\n<li>You think that the first day deer sea\u00adson is a nation\u00adal hol\u00adi\u00adday. <\/li>\n<li>You find 100 degrees Fahren\u00adheit \u201ca lit\u00adtle warm.\u201d <\/li>\n<li>You know all four sea\u00adsons: almost sum\u00admer, sum\u00admer, still sum\u00admer,<br>\nand Christ\u00admas. <\/li>\n<li>You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good gum\u00adbo weath\u00ader. <\/li>\n<li>A car\u00adbon\u00adat\u00aded soft drink isn\u2019t a soda, cola, or pop\u2026it\u2019s a Coke, regard\u00adless of brand or fla\u00advor.
