He never forwards me stuff, so I decided to take a look at it. I liked&nbsp;it!<\/p>\n<p>In abridged version, here\u2019s a Louisiana primer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>There are 5,000 types of snakes, and 4,998 live in Louisiana.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Squirrels will eat anything. And folks in Louisiana will eat squirrel.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it&nbsp;bites.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>It is not a shopping cart, it is a&nbsp;buggy.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cFixinto\u201d is one&nbsp;word.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>There ain\u2019t no such thing as \u201clunch.\u201d There\u2019s \u201cdinner\u201d and&nbsp;then<br>\nthere\u2019s \u201csupper.\u201d!\n<\/li>\n<li>Sweet tea is appropriate for all meals, and you start drinking it when you\u2019re two.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cJeet?\u201d is actually a phrase meaning \u201cDid you&nbsp;eat?\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And you know you\u2019re from LA (Louisiana, that is)&nbsp;if:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You measure distance in minutes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You use \u201cfix\u201d as a verb. Example: I am fixing to go to the&nbsp;store.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You \u201caxe\u201d people questions. Example: I got somethin\u2019 to axe you \u2019bout.<\/li>\n<li>You only own four spices: salt, Tony\u2019s, Tabasco and ketchup.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>The local papers cover national and international news on one&nbsp;page<br>\nand six pages for local gossip and sports.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You think that the first day deer season is a national holiday.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit \u201ca little warm.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You know all four seasons: almost summer, summer, still summer,<br>\nand Christmas.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good gumbo weather.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>A carbonated soft drink isn\u2019t a soda, cola, or pop\u2026it\u2019s a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor.
