Soror\u00adi\u00adty gal emailed the recent con\u00advert and, with her per\u00admis\u00adsion, I\u2019ve anonymized it and present her email for your con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion. I\u2019ve trimmed off the begin\u00adning because it\u2019s impos\u00adsi\u00adble to anonymize with\u00adout mak\u00ading it use\u00adless (she iden\u00adti\u00adfies a spe\u00adcif\u00adic Chris\u00adt\u00adian in the recip\u00adi\u00aden\u00adt\u2019s soror\u00adi\u00adty for her to con\u00adnect with), but the rest of her let\u00adter is more broad\u00adly applic\u00ada\u00adble:<\/p>\n

I think [your soror\u00adi\u00adty and my soror\u00adi\u00adty] may be dif\u00adfer\u00adent in terms of their empha\u00adsis on par\u00adty\u00ading and drink\u00ading, but I will def\u00adi\u00adnite\u00adly try to give you my two cents, and if you want to meet up at any point, let me know and I\u2019d love to get togeth\u00ader to talk and\/or pray with you about it.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I have always felt very at home in [my soror\u00adi\u00adty] as a Chris\u00adt\u00adian. There are 10\u201315 Chris\u00adt\u00adian girls in [my soror\u00adi\u00adty], and many more who aren\u2019t into get\u00adting drunk\/hooking up. My big is a Chris\u00adt\u00adian, as is my twin, and my twin\u2019s lit\u00adtle. I try to sur\u00adround myself with these girls, rather than the partiers. I do still go out to the events where there is drink\u00ading, but I only drink mod\u00ader\u00adate\u00adly (if at all) and still always have a great time. Do you have a group of girls like this in [your soror\u00adi\u00adty]? Are there oth\u00ader Chris\u00adtians in [your soror\u00adi\u00adty] you can team up with?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Anoth\u00ader thing that helped me ensure that there are enough events that don\u2019t cen\u00adter around drinking\/partying was get\u00adting involved on the sis\u00adter\u00adhood com\u00admit\u00adtee. If you guys have a com\u00admit\u00adtee like that, I would encour\u00adage you to get involved and make sure those kinds of events are hap\u00adpen\u00ading.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you are feel\u00ading like [your soror\u00adi\u00adty] is a place where you can\u2019t be your\u00adself or where you are encour\u00adaged to make poor deci\u00adsions, deac\u00adti\u00advat\u00ading might be the right choice for you. My biggest advice to you would be to pray about it and go with your gut. I do think there is room to be a Chris\u00adt\u00adian in Greek life, but I also think it varies a lot depend\u00ading on the frat\/sorority. Many of my clos\u00adest friends aren\u2019t Chris\u00adt\u00adian, and I think this can def\u00adi\u00adnite\u00adly make it more dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to do the right thing at times. But, I think that as long as you have that Chris\u00adt\u00adian com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty some\u00adwhere, you can make it work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
