In Sacramento. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/directions\/main.adp?go=1&amp;do=nw&amp;un=m&amp;2tabval=address&amp;cl=EN&amp;ct=NA&amp;1tabval=address&amp;1y=US&amp;1a=908+Middle+Ave&amp;1c=Menlo+Park&amp;1s=CA&amp;1z=&amp;1ah=&amp;2y=US&amp;2a=9470+Micron+Avenue&amp;2c=Sacramento&amp;2s=CA&amp;2z=&amp;2ah=&amp;idx=0&amp;id=41996652-00382-0108e-400c3301&amp;aid=41996652-00383-0108e-400c3301\">125 miles away<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As my stomach sank into my socks I began making those pathetic, desperate sounds I am prone to make in such situtations, \u201cUrgh. Ack. Jeez. No. Must be a mistake. Shoot. AARGH!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That may seem mild, but I assure you that if I was possessed of a more flexible vocabulary I would have employed every unwholesome utterance at the stereotypical sailor\u2019s disposal. As it is I probably pushed the boundaries for someone in my line of work\u2013at least internally.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I was out the door in a flash and arrived just in time for&nbsp;lunch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As it turned out I only missed the informational part of the meeting and was able to be present for the decision-making discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Which is fortunate, because the world needs more uninformed people making important decisions\u2026&nbsp;\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning around 9:50 I glanced at my calendar and realized that I had a rather important meeting at 10:00.
