{"id":336,"date":"2005-04-15T17:22:39","date_gmt":"2005-04-16T01:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/archives\/2005\/04\/15\/spirituality-in-higher-education\/"},"modified":"2005-04-15T17:22:54","modified_gmt":"2005-04-16T01:22:54","slug":"spirituality-in-higher-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2005\/04\/15\/spirituality-in-higher-education","title":{"rendered":"Spirituality In Higher Education 2004\u20132005"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Spirituality In Higher Education project has released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spirituality.ucla.edu\/reports\/\">a new report<\/a> for the 2004\u20132005 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Some highlights (and my thoughts):<\/p>\n<p>80% of college students attended a religious service within the last&nbsp;year.<br>\nMY THOUGHT: if they\u2019re not coming back to the church it\u2019s not out of ignorance\u2013they don\u2019t like what they&nbsp;see.<\/p>\n<p>50% of students are \u201cseeking\u201d \u201cconflicted\u201d or \u201cdoubting\u201d when it comes to their&nbsp;faith.<br>\nMY THOUGHT: that\u2019s half my audience\u2013is my ministry structured accordingly?<\/p>\n<p>26% of freshmen consider themselves born&nbsp;again.<br>\nMY THOUGHT: they don\u2019t know what that phrase means&nbsp;\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a very readable article, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/pg\/05104\/488017.stm\">Religiosity Rising On Campus<\/a>, that covers the same data as in the official report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Spirituality In Higher Education project has released a new report for the 2004\u20132005 school year.
