I\u2019ve seen Doug Fields, George Bar\u00adna, Lar\u00adry Osborne, Hen\u00adry Cloud, etc. The best part is I can bring stu\u00addents and expose them to some of these lead\u00aders.<\/p>\n<p>Any\u00adway, I was par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly excit\u00aded about the recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccn.tv\/programming\/event\/evt_12may05.htm\">Wor\u00adship In The Emerg\u00ading Church sem\u00adi\u00adnar<\/a> with <a href=\"http:\/\/dankimball.typepad.com\/\">Dan Kim\u00adball (he blogs!)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/sacramentis.com\/sally\/bio.html\">Sal\u00adly Mor\u00adgen\u00adthaler<\/a>. If you\u2019re going to hear two folks talk about this sub\u00adject it\u2019s hard to pick a bet\u00adter team. You can get the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccn.tv\/programming\/event\/downloads\/evt_12may05\/5-12-05Outline.pdf\">notes in PDF<\/a> (although there are blanks).<\/p>\n<p>Some thoughts I had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As I sus\u00adpect\u00aded, col\u00adlege min\u00adistry real\u00adly is a behind-the-scenes dri\u00adver for a lot of the \u201cemerg\u00ading church\u201d \u201cpost\u00admod\u00adern church\u201d stuff. Dan launched the pre\u00adcur\u00adsor to his cur\u00adrent church as a col\u00adlege min\u00adistry. All the staff at Cur\u00adtis\u2019 church (includ\u00ading Cur\u00adtis) are for\u00admer col\u00adlege min\u00adis\u00adters.<\/li>\n<li>Dan  men\u00adtioned that he had done a sur\u00advey and 98% of UC San\u00adta Cruz stu\u00addents were not part of either a church or a cam\u00adpus min\u00adistry. Hur\u00adry up, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cruzinormes.com\/\">Bri\u00adan &amp; Cecilee<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>Cur\u00adtis Chang was also there as an audi\u00adence mem\u00adber. I\u2019d nev\u00ader heard of the book, which just shows I real\u00adly do know less than oth\u00ader peo\u00adple think I do.<\/li>\n<li>The weak\u00adest point in the sem\u00adi\u00adnar was a for\u00aday into the realms of mul\u00adti\u00adple learn\u00ading styles. I find the con\u00adcept as it is usu\u00adal\u00adly expressed pret\u00adty bogus. I\u2019m not sure the church should be tak\u00ading its lead from Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u2019s edu\u00adca\u00adtion sys\u00adtem and the the\u00ado\u00adries that under\u00adlie it.
