{"id":374,"date":"2005-09-08T09:16:59","date_gmt":"2005-09-08T17:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/?p=374"},"modified":"2005-09-08T13:24:01","modified_gmt":"2005-09-08T21:24:01","slug":"were-geniuses-with-a-preference-for-bright-colors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glenandpaula.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2005\/09\/08\/were-geniuses-with-a-preference-for-bright-colors","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019re Geniuses (With A Preference For Bright Colors)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our neighbor <a href=\"htttp:\/\/www.xanga.com\/item.aspx?tab=weblogs&amp;user=emilymr&amp;uid=341461164\">just referred<\/a> to Paula and I as geniuses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Which is something, given that she has a Ph.D. in early American history and her hubbie has one in electrical engineering.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect the compliment was more in reference to Paula\u2019s practical wisdom than anything else, but I\u2019m still going to be telling all my friends that my genius neighbors think we\u2019re smart, too.&nbsp;\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Now if only I can get Pablo to come around\u2013he\u2019s the other Ph.D. neighbor and he\u2019s not quite convinced that I\u2019m sane. His wife, Sri, has a great respect for Paula, though.<\/p>\n<p>The lesson learned: Paula makes me look good and I should keep&nbsp;her.<\/p>\n<p>The other lesson reinforced: there sure are a lot of people with doctorates around here (in fact, 1\/3 of adult Menlo Park residents <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bayareacensus.ca.gov\/cities\/MenloPark.htm\">have at least a master\u2019s degree<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our neighbor just referred to Paula and I as geniuses.&nbsp; Which is something, given that she has a Ph.D. in early American history and her hubbie has one in electrical engineering.
