In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the&nbsp;world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To that end, on Fridays I\u2019ve been sharing articles\/resources I have found helpful recently in thinking about broader cultural and societal issues (be sure to see the disclaimer at the bottom). May these give you greater insight, so that you may continue the tradition of Issachar. Really. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An unexpected perspective: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/elitedaily.com\/life\/generation-put-down-drink\/1171852\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why The Best Thing This Generation Can Do Is Put Down The Drink<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Alexia LaFeta, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elite Daily<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">): the comments section, unsurprisingly, is filled with vitriolic objections.&nbsp;Some of the language in the article, incidentally, is less than refined and genteel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is Timi\u2019s mom: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/programmes\/my-nigeria\/2015\/09\/funke-opeke-nigeria-cyber-revolutionary-150921085229827.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funke Opeke: Nigeria\u2019s Cyber Revolutionary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Femke van Zeijl, Al Jazeera). I hope her name is pronounced the way I am pronouncing it in my head, because that would be awesome. Also, Timi\u2019s mom is a&nbsp;boss.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Disclaimer<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chi Alpha is not a partisan organization. To paraphrase another minister: we are not about the donkey\u2019s agenda and we are not about the elephant\u2019s agenda \u2014 we are about the Lamb\u2019s agenda. Having said that, I read widely (in part because I believe we should aspire to pass<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/econlog.econlib.org\/archives\/2011\/06\/the_ideological.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the ideological Turing test<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in part because I do not believe I can fairly say \u201cI agree\u201d or \u201cI disagree\u201d until I can say \u201cI understand\u201d) and may at times share articles that have a strong partisan bias simply because I find the article stimulating.
