I asked her what she thought about those liberal critics who might think so. \u2018I understand where they\u2019re coming from, that to them what I\u2019m doing doesn\u2019t make any sense,\u2019 she said. \u2018That\u2019s why being a Christian is not common. I found it fascinating throughout and insightful at points. \u201c\u2026of all the myriad reasons I\u2019ve entertained as to why a guy didn\u2019t call me or a friend back (and, believe me, I\u2019ve not lacked for creativity in this area), the fact that we didn\u2019t offer to pay the bill never once occurred to&nbsp;me.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the election draws ever closer, some stimulating&nbsp;content:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/ct\/2016\/march-web-only\/should-christians-vote-for-lesser-of-two-evils.html?paging=off\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should Christians Vote For the Lesser of Two Evils?<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Russell Moore, Christianity Today). tl;dr \u2014&nbsp;no.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/marginalrevolution.com\/marginalrevolution\/2016\/03\/core-differences-republicans-democrats.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What are the Core Differences Between Republicans and Democrats?<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Tyler Cowen, blog): the author is an econom<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ist at George Mason University. Regular, weekly church attendance \u2014 as measured by a standard Pew Research question included in my survey \u2014 predicted a statistically significant and substantive opposition to Trump\u201d from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vox.com\/2016\/2\/23\/11099644\/trump-support-authoritarianism\">The best predictor of Trump support isn\u2019t income, education, or age. Related: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/gleanings\/2016\/february\/8-charts-evangelicals-vote-donald-trump-super-tuesday.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8 Charts On Which Evangelicals Will (And Won\u2019t) Vote Trump on Super Tuesday<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Christianity Today).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gocomics.com\/pearlsbeforeswine\/2016\/03\/01\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pearls Before Swine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> nails how many seem to be feeling.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Why Do You Send This&nbsp;Email?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the time of King David, the tribe of Issachar produced shrewd warriors \u201cwho understood the times and knew what Israel should do\u201d (1 Chron 12:32). In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the world. I pray this email gives you greater insight, so that you may continue the tradition of Issachar.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Disclaimer<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chi Alpha is not a partisan organization. To paraphrase another minister: we are not about the donkey\u2019s agenda and we are not about the elephant\u2019s agenda \u2014 we are about the Lamb\u2019s agenda. Having said that, I read widely (in part because I believe we should aspire to pass <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/econlog.econlib.org\/archives\/2011\/06\/the_ideological.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the ideological Turing test<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in part because I do not believe I can fairly say \u201cI agree\u201d or \u201cI disagree\u201d until I can say \u201cI understand\u201d) and may at times share articles that have a strong partisan bias simply because I find the article stimulating. The upshot: you should not assume I agree with everything an author says in an article I mention, much less things the author has said in other articles (although if I strongly disagree with something in the article I\u2019ll usually mention it).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, remember that I\u2019m not reporting news \u2014 I\u2019m giving you a selection of things I found interesting.
