On Facebook, an African American student from one of our Chi Alpha groups messaged me asking for my prayers and help. The KKK is handing out flyers in his town (more flyers).\u201c<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/2016\/03\/18\/creation-care-evangelical-christianity-climate-change-434865.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An Evangelical Movement Takes On Climate Change<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Tik Root, Newsweek): \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appalled, Keys founded a nonprofit called Jesus People Against Pollution in 1992, and for more than two decades that\u2019s been her mission. She calls it her \u2018kingdom assignment\u2019 from&nbsp;God.\u201c<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/ct\/2016\/april\/defining-evangelicals-in-election-year.html?utm_source=ctdirect-html&amp;utm_medium=Newsletter&amp;utm_term=9500958&amp;utm_content=420835228&amp;utm_campaign=email\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defining Evangelicals In An Election Year<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Anderson and Stetzer, Christianity Today): \u201cThe desire to survey white evangelicals to determine their political interests inadvertently ends up conveying two ideas that are not true: that \u2018evangelical\u2019 means \u2018white\u2019 and that evangelicals are primarily defined by their politics\u2026. In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the world. I pray this email gives you greater insight, so that you may continue the tradition of Issachar.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Disclaimer<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chi Alpha is not a partisan organization. To paraphrase another minister: we are not about the donkey\u2019s agenda and we are not about the elephant\u2019s agenda \u2014 we are about the Lamb\u2019s agenda. Having said that, I read widely (in part because I believe we should aspire to pass <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/econlog.econlib.org\/archives\/2011\/06\/the_ideological.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the ideological Turing test<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in part because I do not believe I can fairly say \u201cI agree\u201d or \u201cI disagree\u201d until I can say \u201cI understand\u201d) and may at times share articles that have a strong partisan bias simply because I find the article stimulating. The upshot: you should not assume I agree with everything an author says in an article I mention, much less things the author has said in other articles (although if I strongly disagree with something in the article I\u2019ll usually mention it).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, remember that I\u2019m not reporting news \u2014 I\u2019m giving you a selection of things I found interesting.
