Clever, well-done, and Good Friday appropriate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisamericanlife.org\/radio-archives\/episode\/581\/anatomy-of-doubt\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anatomy of Doubt<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Ira Glass, This American Life): this is an amazing, disturbing story. There are companion print&nbsp;pieces&nbsp;as well, but listen to the podcast.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/volteface.me\/features\/do-we-still-need-prisons\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do We Still Need Prisons?<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Paul Kirby, Volteface): this article by David Cameron\u2019s former director of public policy is full of creative ideas. Two related thoughts worth pondering: the Bible never commands a government to build prisons, and Jesus said He came to set the prisoners free.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/wonk\/wp\/2016\/03\/23\/the-truth-about-online-dating-according-to-someone-who-has-been-studying-it-for-years\/?src=longreads\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How well online dating works, according to someone who has been studying it for years<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Roberto Ferdman, Wonkblog): this an interview with a Stanford prof. &nbsp;\u201cIt\u2019s kind of superficial. But it\u2019s superficial because we\u2019re kind of superficial; it\u2019s like that because humans are like that. Judging what someone else looks like first is not an attribute of technology, it\u2019s an attribute of how we look at people. Dating, both modern and not, is a fairly superficial endeavor.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2016\/03\/yale-silliman-race\/475152\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Dialog On Race and Speech at Yale<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic): the columnist has a very insightful email interchange with a Yale undergrad.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/marginalrevolution.com\/marginalrevolution\/2016\/03\/banning-credit-checks-harms-african-americans.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banning Credit Checks Harms African-Americans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Tyler Cowen): \u201cIn states that passed credit-check bans, it &nbsp;became easier for people with bad credit histories to compete for employment. The government exempts big businesses such as Exxon and big municipalities such as New York City, and does so just to reduce administrative inconvenience for these entities. In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the world. Having said that, I read widely (in part because I believe we should aspire to pass <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/econlog.econlib.org\/archives\/2011\/06\/the_ideological.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the ideological Turing test<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in part because I do not believe I can fairly say \u201cI agree\u201d or \u201cI disagree\u201d until I can say \u201cI understand\u201d) and may at times share articles that have a strong partisan bias simply because I find the article stimulating. The upshot: you should not assume I agree with everything an author says in an article I mention, much less things the author has said in other articles (although if I strongly disagree with something in the article I\u2019ll usually mention it).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, remember that I\u2019m not reporting news \u2014 I\u2019m giving you a selection of things I found interesting.
