This is one of those trends that everyone will be talking about in 10\u201315&nbsp;years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/religionnews.com\/2016\/08\/18\/you-are-not-your-brain-why-a-head-transplant-is-not-what-you-think-it-is\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are not your brain: Why a head transplant is not what you think it is<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Charles Camosy, Religion News Service): this was mind-blowing. Pun intended. With me, the pun is always intended.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/09\/06\/how-a-cakemaker-became-an-enemy-of-the-state\/#.V86tETTpKMM.twitter\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How A Cakemaker Became An Enemy Of The State<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (David Harsyani, The Federalist): \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christians are regularly compared to Southern segregationists and racists, when in reality the comparison is best reversed. Yes, the power of Jim Crow reflected popular will, but it was sanctioned by the state. Spot on. Read <a href=\"http:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/tom-blumer\/2016\/09\/04\/mother-teresa-canonized-cnn-and-wash-post-get-last-digs\">a great rebuttal<\/a> to the debunking articles you may have&nbsp;seen.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/drama-still-tragically-following-woman-just-hates-drama\/\">Drama&nbsp;Still&nbsp;Tragically&nbsp;Following&nbsp;Woman&nbsp;Who Just&nbsp;Hates&nbsp;Drama<\/a>&nbsp;(Babylon Bee):&nbsp;we all have that friend. If you don\u2019t have that friend then ask all your friends if they have that friend. If they avoid eye contact and try to redirect the conversation, look in the mirror and rebuke yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Why Do You Send This&nbsp;Email?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>In the time of King David, the tribe of Issachar produced shrewd warriors \u201cwho understood the times and knew what Israel should do\u201d (1 Chron 12:32). In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the world. I pray this email gives you greater insight, so that you may continue the tradition of Issachar.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Disclaimer<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Chi Alpha is not a partisan organization. The upshot: you should not assume I agree with everything an author says in an article I mention, much less things the author has said in other articles (although if I strongly disagree with something in the article I\u2019ll usually mention it).<\/p>\n<p>Also, remember that I\u2019m not reporting news \u2014 I\u2019m giving you a selection of things I found interesting.
