That percentage ranged widely across the cities, with 90 percent of emergency beds in Omaha, Neb., provided by faith groups and 33 percent in Portland, Ore.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n

Two insightful follow-ups are <\/span>What Conservatives Get Wrong About Trump\u2019s Immigration Order<\/span><\/a> (Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic) and <\/span>Tallying Up Trump<\/span><\/a> (Peter Leithart, First Things). George Wood, the leader of my denomination, penned a <\/span>Response To The Executive Order on Immigration<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/li>\n

An Evangelical Christian Defends Trump\u2019s First Week In Office<\/span><\/a> (Emma Gre<\/span>en, The Atlantic): \u201cI\u2019m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt thus far because I, and many Americans, have been unfortunately trained by the press in recent years not to take their side automatically anymore. They have tremendously undermined themselves.\u201d It\u2019s interesting to read <\/span>Fake News and Evangelicals<\/span><\/a> (Alex Wilgus, Common Vision) in conjunction with this. <\/span><\/li>\n

Neil Gorsuch belongs to a notably liberal church \u2014 and would be the first Protestant on the Court in years<\/span><\/a> (Julie Zauzmer, Washington Post): He is Episcopal, yet many Episcopals (especially clergy) are opposed to his nomination, whereas evangelicals and Catholics are mostly delighted. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
