I have found that I know plen\u00adty of well-edu\u00adcat\u00aded peo\u00adple, with grad\u00adu\u00adate degrees and liv\u00ading in and near Wash\u00ading\u00adton, who aren\u2019t even aware this occurred. The sto\u00adry has fall\u00aden into a mem\u00ado\u00adry hole, in part because nei\u00adther the Amer\u00adi\u00adcans nor the Rus\u00adsians wish to esca\u00adlate the con\u00adflict.\u201d\n
