If administrators object to turning the school\u2019s food service into a landlord, it is likely because they know leasing space to third party vendors, besides being better for everyone else, could be done by a single person, without the bureaucratic bloat of the current system.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/science\/2018\/apr\/16\/a-real-life-lord-of-the-flies-the-troubling-legacy-of-the-robbers-cave-experiment\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A real-life Lord of the Flies: the troubling legacy of the Robbers Cave experiment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (David Shariatmadari, The Guardian): \u201cThe \u2018Robbers Cave experiment\u2019 is considered seminal by social psychologists, still one of the best-known examples of \u2018realistic conflict theory\u2019. It is often cited in modern research. But was it scientifically rigorous? And why were the results of the Middle Grove experiment \u2013 where the researchers couldn\u2019t get the boys to fight \u2013 suppressed? \u2026 [The researcher\u2019s method was] think of the theory first and then find a way to get the results that match it. If the results say something else? In a similar way, we need to become wise people whose faith interacts with the world. The upshot: you should not assume I agree with everything an author says in an article I mention, much less things the author has said in other articles (although if I strongly disagree with something in the article I\u2019ll usually mention it).<\/p>\n<p>Also, remember that I\u2019m not reporting news \u2014 I\u2019m giving you a selection of things I found interesting.
