I picked it up on a whim at an off\u00adbeat book\u00adstore in Half Moon Bay between two church ser\u00advices.<\/p>\n

I loved it and found it utter\u00adly per\u00adsua\u00adsive. I\u2019ve had a long-sim\u00admer\u00ading aver\u00adsion to per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty test\u00ading (root\u00aded in a bad expe\u00adri\u00adence in sem\u00adi\u00adnary, observ\u00ading friends get shaft\u00aded by the Assem\u00adblies of God per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty screen\u00ading sys\u00adtem for mis\u00adsion\u00adar\u00adies, some bit\u00ading pas\u00adsages about psy\u00adchol\u00ado\u00adgy by Richard Feyn\u00admann, and being a crit\u00adi\u00adcal thinker). Some\u00adthing about them always felt wrong (and I could even put parts of my unease into fair\u00adly per\u00adsua\u00adsive words), but I nev\u00ader had the facts I need\u00aded to under\u00adstand exact\u00adly where the prob\u00adlem lay. This book changed all that.<\/p>\n

I men\u00adtion it because I just read an arti\u00adcle by Mal\u00adcolm Glad\u00adwell called Per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty Plus<\/a> that cov\u00aders the same ground. It\u2019s a great intro to the con\u00adcepts cov\u00adered in the book.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re in the habit of refer\u00adring to peo\u00adple by their Myers-Brig\u00adgs type, or if you like to use the terms san\u00adguine and cho\u00adler\u00adic in casu\u00adal con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtion, or if you\u2019ve ever made a deci\u00adsion based on the results of a per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty test, READ THIS BOOK (or at least Glad\u00adwell\u2019s arti\u00adcle).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
