In addi\u00adtion, I got to spend around 14 hours in a car dri\u00adving from Lafayette, LA to Louisville, KY for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldmissionssummit.ag.org\/\">The World Mis\u00adsions Sum\u00admit<\/a>. Near\u00adly 4,000 col\u00adlege stu\u00addents from Chi Alpha groups across Amer\u00adi\u00adca gath\u00adered to con\u00adsid\u00ader their role in God\u2019s glob\u00adal plan. And then I got to spend 14 hours dri\u00adving back again.<br>\nSome high\u00adlights from the trip:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get\u00adting loot for Christ\u00admas, includ\u00ading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/game\/\">Munchkin<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Hav\u00ading Dana decide that dad\u00addy was her favorite for a lit\u00adtle while.<\/li>\n<li>Watch\u00ading my par\u00adents final\u00adly get broad\u00adband inter\u00adnet ser\u00advice. Also, fix\u00ading com\u00adput\u00aders for both my par\u00adents and my in-laws.<\/li>\n<li>Dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00ading that Steve Barke has a snore that would cause a dead per\u00adson to search for ear plugs. Also, pur\u00adchas\u00ading ear plugs.<\/li>\n<li>Lis\u00adten\u00ading to J. Rufus Fears <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teach12.com\/ttc\/assets\/coursedescriptions\/807.asp\">talk about Win\u00adston Churchill for 12 hours<\/a>. I\u2019ve long admired Churchill based on what lit\u00adtle I knew about him\u2013now that I know more I\u2019m astound\u00aded. He was among the great\u00adest of all time.<\/li>\n<li>Hang\u00ading out with <a href=\"http:\/\/gregpavydavis.com\/\">Greg<\/a> for 14 hours in a car.<\/li>\n<li>Dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00ading that there are whole stretch\u00ades of road in the South which only receive coun\u00adtry and\/or rap sta\u00adtions.<\/li>\n<li>Chat\u00adting with <a href=\"http:\/\/lifewithlindsey.com\/\">Lind\u00adsey<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/nichollusion.blogspot.com\/\">Nic\u00adho\u00adlette<\/a> about their upcom\u00ading moves to join us. They\u2019re both such great people\u2013Paula and I can\u2019t wait for them to be here!<\/li>\n<li>Meet\u00ading <a href=\"http:\/\/willphillips.org\/blog\/?p=26\">Will Phillips<\/a>. He was every bit as enter\u00adtain\u00ading in per\u00adson as I had hoped he would be. For some rea\u00adson he thinks he out-geeks me. Some\u00adday I may have to dis\u00adabuse him of that notion (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&amp;target=GlenDavis\">I con\u00adtribute to Wikipedia<\/a>, for cry\u00ading out loud).<\/li>\n<li>See\u00ading my old bud <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehouseblog.com\/\">Randy Jumper<\/a> again. We were class\u00admates at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agts.edu\/\">AGTS<\/a> and have kept in touch dig\u00adi\u00adtal\u00adly since. Nice to have a face-to-face again.<\/li>\n<li>Dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00ading that Stan\u00adford frosh John Sill\u00adcox can focus out of each eye sep\u00ada\u00adrate\u00adly. Freaky.<\/li>\n<li>Way cool wor\u00adship in the morn\u00ading. In an odd turn of events, the morn\u00ading ser\u00advices were con\u00adsis\u00adtent\u00adly 5 to 7 times bet\u00adter than the evening ser\u00advices.<\/li>\n<li>See\u00ading over 650 stu\u00addents make a one-year com\u00admitt\u00adment to mis\u00adsions with the option for a life\u00adtime exten\u00adsion. Woohoo! And they weren\u2019t just sign\u00ading up for the easy places, either. A lot of closed coun\u00adtries are in for a big sur\u00adprise.<\/li>\n<li>Watch\u00ading the amaz\u00ading lev\u00adel of panache with which the Ascent (a Chi Alpha staff event) was pulled off.
