We were walk\u00ading across cam\u00adpus and I saw that it was tem\u00adporar\u00adi\u00adly vacant, so I just had to jump up and have my pho\u00adto snapped!<\/p>\n<p>Doing a lit\u00adtle research, I learned that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artcyclopedia.com\/artists\/rodin_auguste.html\">Auguste Rodin<\/a> orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adly cre\u00adat\u00aded <i>The Thinker<\/i> as part of his mas\u00adter\u00adpiece <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bc.edu\/bc_org\/avp\/cas\/fnart\/rodin\/gates01.jpg\">The Gates of Hell<\/a><\/i>. The fig\u00adure sat atop the gates and reflect\u00aded on the fate of the damned.<\/p>\n<p>Yikes! I sup\u00adpose that makes Stan\u00adford a good site for <i>The Thinker<\/i>\u2014there\u2019s cer\u00adtain\u00adly an ample sup\u00adply of lost souls to pon\u00adder.<\/p>\n<p>And so Paula and I are here to give him less to think about.
