When that same poll was con\u00adduct\u00aded ten years ear\u00adli\u00ader, that share was just 14%. Is Brown an out\u00adlier here? Or are huge per\u00adcent\u00adages of col\u00adlege stu\u00addents not straight and\/or not cis\u00adgen\u00adder? The sur\u00advey gave sev\u00aden total options for gen\u00adder. <strong>The first thing that needs to be point\u00aded out is that the vast, vast major\u00adi\u00adty of young peo\u00adple iden\u00adti\u00adfy as man or woman. In fact, this was the choice of 98.2% of all respon\u00addents in the sur\u00advey.<\/strong> In oth\u00ader words, about one in fifty col\u00adlege aged stu\u00addents iden\u00adti\u00adfies as non\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adry, genderqueer\/genderfluid, agen\u00adder, unsure, or pre\u00adfer not to say.\u2026 <strong>72% of the sam\u00adple iden\u00adti\u00adfies as straight. Anoth\u00ader 12% says that they are bisex\u00adu\u00adal and 5% indi\u00adcates that they are gay\/lesbian.<\/strong> These three response options encom\u00adpass about 90% of all respon\u00addents in the sam\u00adple. About two per\u00adcent iden\u00adti\u00adfy as pan\u00adsex\u00adu\u00adal or queer or unsure.\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full of inter\u00adest\u00ading data, empha\u00adsis in orig\u00adi\u00adnal. I believe Brown is accu\u00adrate\u00adly report\u00ading its data, and I also believe Brown (and Stan\u00adford) are out\u00adliers in this regard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar note: \u201cThe groups that are the least like\u00adly to say that they are straight are athe\u00adists at 55% and agnos\u00adtics at 53%. It\u2019s pret\u00adty stag\u00adger\u00ading to con\u00adsid\u00ader that near\u00adly half of young atheists\/agnostics are not het\u00adero\u00adsex\u00adu\u00adal. Noth\u00ading in par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlars are not far behind, either, at 62%.
