What is arguably lost in the dichoto\u00admy of sex and gen\u00adder is the whole\u00adness, the com\u00adplete\u00adness of the human per\u00adson.\u2026 because gen\u00adder can\u00adnot be sep\u00ada\u00adrat\u00aded from sex, in ordi\u00adnary speech we can use these terms as syn\u00adonyms. Thus, to get The After Par\u00adty off the ground, the trio (all fre\u00adquent crit\u00adics of evan\u00adgel\u00adi\u00adcals who vot\u00aded for Don\u00adald Trump) turned to \u2018pre\u00addom\u00adi\u00adnant\u00adly pro\u00adgres\u00adsive\u2019 \u2018unbe\u00adliev\u00aders.\u2019 In fact, they turned to sec\u00adu\u00adlar left-wing foun\u00adda\u00adtions.\u2026 To offer a pol\u00adi\u00adtics cur\u00adricu\u00adlum backed by the sec\u00adu\u00adlar left as the church\u2019s solu\u00adtion to idol\u00ada\u00adtrous co-opta\u00adtion by the right is like sug\u00adgest\u00ading that a man who became obese eat\u00ading cake and ice cream will lose weight by gorg\u00ading on piz\u00adza and pota\u00adto chips. As a friend told me, \u2018If you want the church to be less polit\u00adi\u00adcal, start by focus\u00ading less on pol\u00adi\u00adtics your\u00adself.\u2019?\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rec\u00adom\u00admend\u00aded to me by a stu\u00addent. Sto\u00adries like this make me sad. I\u2019m remind\u00aded of 3 John 1:7\u20138, \u201cFor they have gone out for the sake of the name, accept\u00ading noth\u00ading from the Gen\u00adtiles. There\u00adfore we ought to sup\u00adport peo\u00adple like these, that we may be fel\u00adlow work\u00aders for the truth.\u201d (ESV)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be clear, I don\u2019t think that min\u00adistries should always reject fund\u00ading from non-Chris\u00adt\u00adian sources any more than Nehemi\u00adah should have refused sup\u00adplies from the empire for rebuild\u00ading Jerusalem, I just think we should always do it with our eyes open and with trans\u00adparen\u00adcy about it.
