In case you\u2019re won\u00adder\u00ading, it was a pleas\u00adant vis\u00adit. We went to San Jose<\/a>, San Fran\u00adcis\u00adco<\/a>, Big Basin<\/a> (where we saw some tru\u00adly impres\u00adsive red\u00adwoods), and San\u00adta Cruz<\/a>. Woohoo!<\/p>\n

Men\u00adtion\u00ading San Jose reminds me: I recent\u00adly dis\u00adcov\u00adered that San Jose is actu\u00adal\u00adly larg\u00ader than San Fran\u00adcis\u00adco<\/a> (both in terms of land mass and pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion). It\u2019s the third largest city in the state\u2013following Los Ange\u00adles and San Diego\u2013and the eleventh largest in Amer\u00adi\u00adca.<\/p>\n

That real\u00adly threw me for a loop. My whole life I\u2019ve thought there were two big cities in Cal\u00adi\u00adfor\u00adnia: Los Ange\u00adles and San Fran\u00adcis\u00adco. Once again, my Gen X<\/a> geo\u00adgraph\u00adic illit\u00ader\u00ada\u00adcy races to the fore!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
