Every\u00adthing in the sto\u00adry sounds like a pious leg\u00adend con\u00adfab\u00adu\u00adlat\u00aded cen\u00adturies after the fact. A peas\u00adant girl with zero polit\u00adi\u00adcal or mil\u00adi\u00adtary expe\u00adri\u00adence shows up at a roy\u00adal court, announces a divine mis\u00adsion and makes a series of prophe\u00adcies about what God wants for France that she con\u00adsis\u00adtent\u00adly ful\u00adfills \u2014 a ful\u00adfill\u00adment that requires not mere\u00adly some for\u00adtu\u00adnate hap\u00adpen\u00adstance, but her tak\u00ading com\u00admand of a medieval army and win\u00adning an imme\u00addi\u00adate series of vic\u00adto\u00adries over an intim\u00adi\u00addat\u00ading adver\u00adsary with Alexan\u00addrine or Napoleon\u00adic skill.\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Worth a pon\u00adder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-025-02342-y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Physi\u00adcists dis\u00adagree wild\u00adly on what quan\u00adtum mechan\u00adics says about real\u00adi\u00adty, <em>Nature<\/em> sur\u00advey shows<\/a> (Eliz\u00ada\u00adbeth Gib\u00adney, Nature): \u201c<em>Nature<\/em> asked researchers what they thought was the best inter\u00adpre\u00adta\u00adtion of quan\u00adtum phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adna and inter\u00adac\u00adtions \u2014 that is, their favourite of the var\u00adi\u00adous attempts sci\u00aden\u00adtists have made to relate the math\u00ade\u00admat\u00adics of the the\u00ado\u00adry to the real world. But the sur\u00advey also showed that sev\u00ader\u00adal, more rad\u00adi\u00adcal, view\u00adpoints have a healthy fol\u00adlow\u00ading. Asked about their con\u00adfi\u00addence in their answer, only 24% of respon\u00addents thought their favoured inter\u00adpre\u00adta\u00adtion was cor\u00adrect; oth\u00aders con\u00adsid\u00adered it mere\u00adly ade\u00adquate or a use\u00adful tool in some cir\u00adcum\u00adstances. What\u2019s more, some sci\u00aden\u00adtists who seemed to be in the same camp didn\u2019t give the same answers to fol\u00adlow-up ques\u00adtions, sug\u00adgest\u00ading incon\u00adsis\u00adtent or dis\u00adparate under\u00adstand\u00adings of the inter\u00adpre\u00adta\u00adtion they chose.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/chi-alpha-texas-abuse-allegations-christian-missionary-sex-offender-rcna220069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How a Chris\u00adt\u00adian col\u00adlege min\u00adistry glo\u00adri\u00adfied a sex offend\u00ader and enabled him to keep abus\u00ading stu\u00addents<\/a> (Mike Hix\u00aden\u00adbaugh, NBC News): \u201cThe pas\u00adtors who shep\u00adherd\u00aded hun\u00addreds of high school and col\u00adlege stu\u00addents to Savala\u2019s home were part of Chi Alpha, a Chris\u00adt\u00adian min\u00adistry that evan\u00adge\u00adlizes on uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty cam\u00adpus\u00ades. Stu\u00addents seek out Chi Alpha to con\u00adnect with God and each oth\u00ader, through small Bible stud\u00adies and rol\u00adlick\u00ading wor\u00adship ser\u00advices \u2014 and, for more than 30 years, through Savala. Gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions of Chi Alpha lead\u00aders hailed him as a spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal savant who could answer life\u2019s deep\u00adest mys\u00adter\u00adies.\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heart\u00adbreak\u00ading. I\u2019ve post\u00aded about this scan\u00addal in Texas before (in oth\u00ader words, this is the same scan\u00addal from a few years ago with addi\u00adtion\u00adal report\u00ading). Now that it is being cov\u00adered on NBC the high\u00ader-qual\u00adi\u00adty jour\u00adnal\u00adism is uncov\u00ader\u00ading even more trag\u00adic details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/2025\/08\/put-down-the-shofar-gentile-christians-jewish-law-galatians-circumcision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Put Down the Sho\u00adfar<\/a> (Brad East, Chris\u00adtian\u00adi\u00adty Today): \u201cYou\u2019re like\u00adly famil\u00adiar with sho\u00adfars blown in pub\u00adlic, Seder meals for Passover, and cir\u00adcum\u00adci\u00adsion for baby boys. Whether or not a real reli\u00adgious revival is under\u00adway in Amer\u00adi\u00adcan pub\u00adlic life, one thing is clear: The cool kids aren\u2019t the smug, stri\u00addent athe\u00adists anymore\u2014they\u2019re the Chris\u00adtians.\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading, although it reminds me I need to write that essay I\u2019ve been mulling over defend\u00ading low-church Protes\u00adtantism as the best and most authen\u00adtic expres\u00adsion of Chris\u00adtian\u00adi\u00adty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/08\/03\/briefing\/christian-influencers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Influ\u00adencer Mis\u00adsion\u00adar\u00adies<\/a> (Lau\u00adren Jack\u00adson, New York Times): \u201cChurch\u00ades are turn\u00ading to the inter\u00adnet to reach new audi\u00adences. Also because of some of the small vignettes: \u201cPer\u00adhaps that explains the celebri\u00adty of Father Rafael Capo, 57, a body\u00adbuild\u00ading priest in Mia\u00admi who fus\u00ades fit\u00adness with faith for his 112,000 Insta\u00adgram fol\u00adlow\u00aders. He often posts pho\u00adtos of him\u00adself lift\u00ading weights and con\u00adse\u00adcrat\u00ading com\u00admu\u00adnion.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Why Do You Send This Email?<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the time of King David, the tribe of Issachar pro\u00adduced shrewd war\u00adriors \u201cwho under\u00adstood the times and knew what Israel should do\u201d (1 Chron 12:32).
