As I recall, this obser\u00adva\u00adtion was brought up in the con\u00adtext of crit\u00adi\u00adciz\u00ading the very con\u00adcept of grad\u00adu\u00adate-lev\u00adel min\u00adis\u00adte\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal train\u00ading. The impli\u00adca\u00adtion was that the time spent learn\u00ading about the Bible would have been bet\u00adter spent learn\u00ading about mar\u00adket\u00ading (or the inter\u00adnet or psy\u00adchol\u00ado\u00adgy or some\u00adthing prac\u00adti\u00adcal).<\/p>\n<p>This crit\u00adi\u00adcism did\u00adn\u2019t have a lot of weight for me \u2014 I just knew sem\u00adi\u00adnary had been good for me and I con\u00adtin\u00adued to rec\u00adom\u00admend it to any min\u00adis\u00adter who loved learn\u00ading.<\/p>\n<p>But I real\u00adized this morn\u00ading that the alle\u00adga\u00adtion was untrue. Bill Hybels has\u00adn\u2019t gone to sem\u00adi\u00adnary, for exam\u00adple. I don\u2019t think Ed Young, Jr. has, either. Joel Osteen has\u00adn\u2019t. Mark Driscoll is, I believe, fin\u00adish\u00ading up a sem\u00adi\u00adnary degree right now.<\/p>\n<p>But from what I can tell the major\u00adi\u00adty of nation\u00adal\u00adly-known Chris\u00adt\u00adian pas\u00adtors have gone to sem\u00adi\u00adnary.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not say\u00ading that going to sem\u00adi\u00adnary will guar\u00adan\u00adtee you a numer\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly fruit\u00adful min\u00adistry \u2014 but I can guar\u00adan\u00adtee you that it won\u2019t pre\u00advent you from build\u00ading a numer\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly fruit\u00adful min\u00adistry, either.
