Dur\u00ading the inter\u00adview he shared a help\u00adful metaphor about his cri\u00adsis of faith as a young adult. \u201cIt\u2019s like my baby teeth. They had to go so my per\u00adma\u00adnent teeth could come in. Some\u00adthing sim\u00adi\u00adlar hap\u00adpened with my faith. I need\u00aded to move from a child\u2019s faith to an adult faith, but what I got in the end was some\u00adthing bet\u00adter and more endur\u00ading.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Any\u00adway, after\u00adwards we were able to talk briefly and I asked him about apply\u00ading the prin\u00adci\u00adples of his pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal life to min\u00adistry. How would a d.school per\u00adson approach improv\u00ading the expe\u00adri\u00adence of a reg\u00adu\u00adlar or a guest at a min\u00adistry func\u00adtion?<\/p>\n<p>We only talked briefly, but one tid\u00adbit he shared real\u00adly struck me. \u201cWhen we\u2019re doing feed\u00adback we find it help\u00adful to have peo\u00adple restrict them\u00adselves to three types of state\u00adments: \u2018I like\u2026\u2019, \u2018I wish\u2026\u2019, and \u2018We should try\u2026\u2019. For exam\u00adple, \u2018I liked it when you talked about x, I wish you had spent more time on that and less on this oth\u00ader point.\u2019 It forces feed\u00adback to be more per\u00adson\u00adal and also push\u00ades it in a con\u00adstruc\u00adtive direc\u00adtion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I think we\u2019ll exper\u00adi\u00adment with that and see how it works out for us.
