A friend of mine (Jay New\u00adland) just sent me a fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading site talk\u00ading about the future of the Assem\u00adblies of God: Future AG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sites like these are con\u00adtro\u00adver\u00adsial in our move\u00adment because we wish to avoid the appear\u00adance of pol\u00adi\u00adtics \u2014 it seems too tawdry for us. But our goal is not to be non-polit\u00adi\u00adcal (as though that were pos\u00adsi\u00adble), but to be wise in our selec\u00adtion process. Con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtions such as those at Future AG can help us make wis\u00ader choic\u00ades, and are there\u00adfore a good thing.<\/p>\n

One post<\/a> was extreme\u00adly help\u00adful to me, and so I share it in the hope it will be help\u00adful to oth\u00aders as well.<\/p>\n

\nHere is how it will work. When we arrive we will be asked to nom\u00adi\u00adnate some\u00adone for the posi\u00adtion of gen\u00ader\u00adal super\u00adin\u00adten\u00addent fol\u00adlowed by the assis\u00adtant gen\u00ader\u00adal super\u00adin\u00adten\u00addent, gen\u00ader\u00adal sec\u00adre\u00adtary, AG World Mis\u00adsions exec\u00adu\u00adtive direc\u00adtor and mem\u00adbers of the Exec\u00adu\u00adtive Pres\u00adbytery. Any ordained min\u00adis\u00adter can be nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded.<\/p>\n

In the past this has been done by writ\u00ading someone\u2019s name down on a piece of paper, how\u00adev\u00ader, vot\u00ading this year will be con\u00adduct\u00aded elec\u00adtron\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly. This should speed up busi\u00adness con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00adably. For exam\u00adple, fol\u00adlow\u00ading an elec\u00adtion results should be avail\u00adable in 10 min\u00adutes rather than the hour or more it has tak\u00aden in the past.<\/p>\n

With these changes, it is impor\u00adtant that you reg\u00adis\u00adter ear\u00adly. Go to www.ag.org and you can reg\u00adis\u00adter online before August 3rd. If you miss that date make sure to reg\u00adis\u00adter imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly upon arrival.<\/p>\n

Vot\u00ading will require: Reg\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion, Vot\u00ader ID Badge, Vot\u00ader Guide\u00adbook<\/p>\n

Vot\u00ading del\u00ade\u00adgates will receive a vot\u00ading num\u00adber on the back of their reg\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion cards, which will give them access to the vot\u00ading machine.<\/p>\n

If one nom\u00adi\u00adnee receives two-thirds of the bal\u00adlots cast by the del\u00ade\u00adgates at the gen\u00ader\u00adal coun\u00adcil, a win\u00adner will be declared. That is what hap\u00adpened in 2001 and 2005 when Trask was re-elect\u00aded.<\/p>\n

If no one receives the two-thirds major\u00adi\u00adty, the vot\u00ading is lim\u00adit\u00aded to the top 15 vote-get\u00adters.<\/p>\n

If that does\u00adn\u2019t pro\u00adduce a win\u00adner, the field is cut to the top three.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
