The Message: Bono’s Favorite Bible Translation

Yes, that’s right. Bono (of U2) has a favorite Bible translation. It’s The Message translated (some would say paraphrased) by Eugene Peterson.

Surprised Bono reads the Bible? Don’t be. Bono professes to be a Christian (albeit an unconventional one).

  1. No wonder, with such a translation that goes directly against the inspired Word of God. I am amazed that Bono even can keep straight what is true or not. The Message was translated by one man and includes many references to New Age Philosophies, strikes sins from the bible as if they never existed. Definitely not of God and not based on truth, sorry that Bono can be led astray so easily, oh well. Trust in Jesus, not in man, especially not Bono or Peterson.
